Baseball Trading
Cards
Here are the instructions for you to use to make your trading
cards.
Trading Cards
- Open a drawing document in AppleWorks.
- If the tools are not out, go to Window/Show Tools.
- Use the rectangular tool to make a box, 5 inches by 4
inches.
- If you don't have a ruler going down the side of your page, go
to Format/Rulers. When you choose graphics rulers you'll get a
ruler across the top of your page and one down the side.
- While in Format/Rulers, set the divisions for inches at 64.
This will allow you to move your objects in very small
increments.
- A sure way to be accurate in your measurement is to highlight
your rectangle, then go to Options/Object Size. You should have 5
in X 4 in. The other numbers in the picture below will vary.
- Put a line right down the middle of your trading card, using
your rulers to help you be exact. This is only for you to use as a
guide in centering your picture and text. It should be
removed before printing.
- Choose a picture of your baseball player to put on the front
of your card. Copy the URL (Internet address) and paste it under
the picture or beside the picture. Reduce the font size of the URL
to really small - try 8pt.
- Now on the other side, add your statistics. You'll have to
click on the A tool, then click and drag a text box on your
document.
- Look at the added touches before you do this next step.
- Print it out, cut it, fold down the center (did you remember
to take that center line out before printing?) and laminate.
